Fratt House joins state historic register

EVERETT — The Charles & Idaila Fratt House at 1725 Grand Ave. has been listed on the Washington Heritage Register.
The state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation also has recommended that the 1906 home be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The house, also known as the Fratt-Wallgren House, is named after Charles D. Fratt, an early Everett lumber and banking magnate who built the home. Monrad Wallgren, a former Washington governor, U.S. senator and representative, also lived there in the 1940s.
The home was renovated in 1998 and is listed on the Everett Register of Historic Places. In 2003 it won the William F. Brown Award from the Everett Historical Commission.
