EVERETT — An Everett man twice convicted of bank robberies was behind bars again Thursday for a holdup.

Michael Charles Rowe, 54, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the March 24 robbery at KeyBank, 1902 110th St. SE., in Everett.

A man passed the teller a note, demanding money and claiming he had a gun. He left with the cash and a hidden dye pack, that exploded, creating a pink cloud.

The robber tossed the bag and drove away in a Lexus. A witness provided officers with the license plate number.

A sheriff’s deputy Wednesday spotted the vehicle with Rowe inside. The man initially was detained on a warrant from King County involving alleged possession of methamphetamine, according to a police report filed Thursday in Everett District Court.

Everett police compared still photographs of the suspect with video surveillance footage from the robbery. The teller who was robbed reportedly picked him from a photo montage.

Rowe’s criminal history includes two convictions for bank robberies, according to court papers.

He was being held at the Snohomish County Jail.
