MALTBY — A man who died after a confrontation with police on March 22 has been identified.
Alexander W. Dold, 29, lived in the area of Echo Lake east of Maltby. His name was released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. As of Sunday, his cause of death remained under investigation.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies had been called to his home for a report of domestic violence. Dold became unresponsive after being shocked with an electronic stun gun, officials said.
The case was assigned to the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, which investigates when police use potentially fatal force.
Dold’s family has told Seattle TV stations he lived with mental illness and had stopped taking his medication.
