EVERETT — A water rescue lasted for hours Sunday evening near the mouth of the Snohomish River. No injuries were reported.

Police and firefighters were attempting to find a stranded boater, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. The boat was said to have capsized, and the man was described as being on a sand bar or barge. The search was focused between Jetty Island and Priest Point.

A man was found about 7 p.m. He said he did not need assistance. Crews were checking the area again to make sure no one else was in distress, Snell said.
