EVERETT — A police chase ended Thursday night when the fleeing car went down an embankment in central Everett.

The driver, a 23-year-old Redmond man, ran away, according to the Washington State Patrol. He was arrested after being caught by a police dog.

A trooper had spotted the Saturn sedan at Everett Avenue and 23rd Street, officials said. The car had license plates stolen from a different vehicle. The trooper tried to pull it over about 7:30 p.m., then gave chase.

The Saturn later was determined to be stolen from Everett. It crashed in the area of 47th Street SE. Two passengers were detained, one of whom had a warrant for his arrest.

No serious injuries were reported.
