The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation on April 26 presented two local fire departments with spendy new equipment.
Snohomish County Fire District 24 received an all-terrain vehicle valued at $16,281. The ATV will be used during backcountry, swift water and mountain search and rescue missions.
Snohomish County Fire District 22 received a Wildland fire unit with a 200-gallon water tank, valued at $19,300, to replace old, damaged equipment that helps provide fire suppression during wildfires.
Funds for the donations came from fundraising efforts following the 2014 mudslide in Oso. Firehouse Subs restaurants also sell five-gallon pickle buckets and take customer donations to help Foundation causes.
