Motorcyclist on Whidbey Island runs off road, is injured

OAK HARBOR — A 39-year-old Oak Harbor man was injured Saturday when his motorcycle left the road and hit an unoccupied sports utility vehicle parked on the shoulder.
The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. on Clover Valley Road near Golf Course Road. The motorcyclist, identified by the Washington State Patrol as Lawrence Moody, was unable to negotiate a curve and hit the SUV near Rocky Point Road.
Moody was transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center in Coupeville for treatment.
