The Lynnwood Police Department recently honored its many volunteers with an annual recognition event. There are more volunteers than sworn officers, with 78 people serving with the Citizens Patrol, Volunteers in Public Safety and as car seat technicians.

Elaine Solvang was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award. Solvang has served the department for 10 years and contributed 5,893 hours in that time in a variety of capacities.
