There were a couple items of note coming from the Everett Silvertips organization Thursday. The first is that the Tips will hold a press conference next Monday at 2 p.m. at Xfinity Arena to announce Dennis Williams as the next head coach.

The press conference will be open to the public.

Also Thursday the organization announced that 11 of their 13 picks from the bantam draft are headed to U-16 provincial camps this summer. The camps are part of the selection process for the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup that takes place in October.

This year the British Columbia camp will be held at Shawnigan Lake on July 11-16 and feature forwards Kent Johnson and Nick Portchetta, and defenseman Dylan Anderson.

Team Alberta will hold its camp July 4-9 at Camrose and feature defenseman and first-round draft pick Ronan Seeley, goalie Blake Lyda and forwards Ryley Morgan, Brayden Morrison and Austin Spiridakis.

July also features the Team Saskatchewan and Team Manitoba camps. Forwards Jackson Berezowski and Kalen Ukrainetz will skate for Saskatchewan and forwart Nathanael Hinds will skate for Manitoba.

Last year six 2016 Silvertips draftees participated in the Challenge Cup in Calgary including first-round pick Ethan Browne who helped lead Team Alberta to the championship.
