Trees, shrubs, perennials, ground covers, roses and annuals. Sale benefits arboretum projects. Raffle will be held at 4 p.m. You don’t have to be present to win.

Garden Tours

Whidbey Island Garden Tour: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 17; 360-321-4191 or www.wigt.org. Tour five private gardens on the island. Funds go toward improving Whidbey’s shared habitat. Tickets, which typically sell out, cost $10 to $25.

Mill Creek Garden Tour: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 24 at six gardens in Mill Creek; www.millcreekgardenclub.com. Benefits Mill Creek Garden Club’s “Giving through Gardening” program. Tickets are $15, on sale at Li’l Sprout Nursery, 17414 Bothell-Everett Highway, Mill Creek.

Camano Island Backyard Wildlife Habitat Garden Tour: Features landscaping for wildlife, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 24; www.camanowildlifehabitat.org at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 NE Camano Drive, the day of the event. Free.

Mukilteo Quilt & Garden Tour: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 15-16. Self-guided tour of seven residential gardens and the indoor quilt display at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo; www.mukilteogardenandquilttour.org. Advance tickets are $15, $20 day of event.

Garden variety

Art in the garden workshop: Nancy Moore and April Richardson will share their experience and knowledge about native plants, field sketching and drawing, and creating dyes from local native plants, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. May 20, Willow Creek Hatchery, 95 Pine St., Edmonds. Great plant picks: noon to 1 p.m. May 20 at Evergreen Arboretum at Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Learn about the comprehensive palette of outstanding plants that have been chosen for the master gardener bed at the arboretum. This program recommends outstanding plants for the maritime Pacific Northwest. Meet at the front entrance of the arboretum.

Rent a bed: Reserve a spot at Garden of Hope, a community garden in Snohomish at Snohomish Church of the Nazarene, 1017 13th St. Full-sized raised bed is $35, plus a $15 refundable clean-up deposit. Scholarship

Mukilteo Way Garden Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship for classes in the horticulture department of Edmonds Community College for the 2017-18 academic year. Applicants are not required to be seeking a degree in horticulture. Graduating high school seniors are eligible to apply as well as adult learners and current horticulture students at EdCC.
