MUKILTEO — The city of Mukilteo is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to a conviction in Sunday’s arson at Columbia Elementary School.

A fire started in a portable toilet shortly after 10 p.m. on May 13. Flames spread to the eaves of the school. Heavy smoke damaged computers and electrical equipment inside. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal estimated the fire caused more than $100,000 in damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-55-arson. People also can contact the police department at crimetips@mukilteowa.gov and 425-263-8107.

The reward would be funded by the Arson Alarm Foundation, according to a news release. The organization works with communities to apprehend arsonists and prevent future fires.
