Twisted Flicks: The Historic Everett Theatre hosts the region’s only live movie re-dubbing show, which merges improv comedy and old B movies. The Twisted Flicks guys from Jet City Improv will riff on “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” at 7:30 p.m. May 19 at the theater, 2911 Colby Ave. Call 425-258-6766.
Reel World Cinema: Free movies in the Calvin Lounge at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Potluck at 6 p.m. Movie at 7 p.m. Discussion follows. The movie May 19 is “Captains Courageous” with Spencer Tracy and Lionel Barrymore. Rudyard Kipling’s story was brought to the screen by Victor Fleming.
Everett Public Library Sunday Films: On May 21 at 2 p.m., see “Secrets of War.” The free showing is in the auditorium at the main library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. In Dutch with English subtitles. Dutch school boys spend the summer of 1943 playing soldiers. Things change when the father of one of the boys becomes a Nazi sympathizer and then town mayor.
Classic Movie Mondays at Marysville Opera House: “Mr. Roberts” will be screened at 6 p.m. May 23 at the opera house, 1225 Third St. Admission is $3. Henry Fonda, James Cagney and Jack Lemmon star in this comedy about a restless officer on a cargo ship during World War II.
“The Quest for the Lost Paintings of Siberia”: Camano Island artist Jack Gunter and filmmaker Jesse Collver have released their long-awaited documentary about retrieving 17 of Gunter’s paintings from a basement in a Russian museum. Featuring Gunter’s original art and animation, an original score by Patrick Donicht and narration by Ed Bednarczyk. Remaining screenings are 7:30 p.m. May 25 at the Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon and 6:15 p.m. May 28 at the Stanwood Cinemas (to get a seat, arrive early for this one). Tickets are $12 at the door.
Kubrick Film Series: See a free showing of Kubrick’s “Lolita” at noon May 31 at the Evergreen branch of the Everett Public Library, 9512 Evergreen Way.
“Looking for Infinity — El Camino”: The documentary about the Way of Saint James and spiritual pilgrimages screens at 7 p.m. June 10 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. Cost is $10.
