Car wash and pet food drive aids CASA
The Camano Animal Shelter Association holds a car wash fundraiser, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Camano Plaza parking lot. All donations benefit the animal shelter. A pet food drive runs at the same time. Volunteers are welcome.

Kids can get rides at Bike Swap
Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop’s annual Kids Bike Swap runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot behind its shop at 2531 Broadway, Everett. Kids can bring in a bike they’ve outgrown to trade in toward one that’s the right size. Cost varies. Bring cash or a check, or pay with PayPal credit.

Pancake breakfast served up
A pancake breakfast is served 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, and every third Saturday, at the East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway. Cost is $5, $3 younger than 12. Proceeds benefit the center.

Lord Hill Park planning
Discuss the future of Snohomish County’s Lord Hill Regional Park at an open house scheduled by parks staff from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
The plans, which are in their early stages, would reconfigure trail networks for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. Those activities must be balanced with environmental concerns at the nearly 1,500-acre park near Snohomish and Monroe. Groups advising the county include Friends of Lord Hill, Back Country Horsemen of Washington and the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance.
Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled in the 4-H building at the fairgrounds, located at 14405 179th Ave. SE in Monroe.

Free car seat installation
The Lynnwood Police Department is offering free car seat installations on Wednesdays. All volunteer technicians are nationally certified to teach parents and caregivers how to safely install car seats. Appointments, which typically last 30 to 45 minutes, can be scheduled by calling the crime prevention unit. Technicians recommend people bring their car seat instructions and the child who will be using the seat.
