Man shot amid apparent Marysville drug deal still in hospital

MARYSVILLE — A man who was shot in Marysville on June 1 remains in serious condition.

The 39-year-old from Kent was listed Wednesday in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The Kent man reportedly was part of a group of people from south King County who tried to rob a drug dealer from the Marysville area. Both sides have accused the other of being armed during the confrontation.

The gunfire occurred outside the Wishing Well apartments along 88th Street NE. Two people from the injured man’s group were arrested June 8. They remained in custody Wednesday. It has not been made clear whether police have identified the shooter.

”Detectives are still investigating,” Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.
