EVENTS

Mountlake Terrace light rail open house

Sound Transit plans an open house Wednesday to discuss a light rail station expected to go into service at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center in 2023 as part of the Lynnwood Link project.

The meeting is set from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nile Shrine Country Club, 6601 244th St. SW. The focus will be on the station’s design, which is 60 percent complete.

A planned 8.5-mile extension of light rail from Northgate to the Lynnwood Transit Center would include stops in Mountlake Terrace and Shoreline. President Donald Trump’s administration has recommended cutting $1.17 billion in grant money for the project, which could delay the timeline significantly. Congressional lawmakers from Washington have vowed to keep those dollars in place.
