Stanwood-Camano derby drivers race to win

The 10th annual Windermere Stanwood Camano Island Soap Box Derby was held June 17. Fifty-one racers competed to represent Stanwood and Camano Island in the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship race in July in Akron, Ohio.

Barric Danielson won first place in the Super Stock Division and Best in Show racing the Lenz Enterprises car. Jenna Sanders won the Sportsmanship Award racing the Stanwood Police Department Car and took second place in the Super Stock division.

Braddock Johnson won first place in the Stock division racing the Windermere Seahawks car. Damien Cabrera won second place in the Stock division racing the Whitehead Family Car.

The Danielson Ready to Ride driven by Ryker Belles won Best in Show in Super Stock.

Third-place winners were Ellie McDonald in Super Stock racing the Camano Island Builders car and Brennick Lemke racing his Stock car sponsored by his Grandparents Lemke and Grandparents Waters and Sunstream Boats Lifts.
