Get pinned for having summer fun in Everett

1. Win pins
Join in the summer fun in Everett and share it on Instagram.
The city is offering five different pins in a new promotion. To earn each pin a different task must be completed within a given timeframe. The brightly colored enamel pins are available while supplies last.
The Street Art pin (through Aug. 25) has a treasure hunt format. Follow clues to five sculptures in Everett and post photos. For the Music at the Marina Pin (through Aug. 31), post a photo and a short review of a Thursday or Saturday concert. The This is Everett pin (through Aug. 25) requires a short video about you and why you love Everett.
Answer three different Questions of the Day on the typewriters on downtown sidewalks to get a Word on the Street pin (through Aug. 1). When the pianos take over the sidewalks (Aug. 2-22), shoot a video of yourself playing a tune and get a cool Street Tunes pin.

2. Get a deal
Are you 62 or older?
The clock is ticking. The special senior lifetime pass for national parks and federal lands will soon leap in price. Starting Aug. 28, the price will increase from the current $10 — when buying a pass at a park station or National Parks Service office — to $80.
A $10 fee is added if ordered online or by mail, with the pass costing $20. The new cost will be $90.

3. Smell the lavender
Wake up and get going. Today is the last day of the annual Lavender Festival Weekend in Sequim, with a street fair, food, entertainment and farm tours. More at www.lavenderfestival.com.
