EVERETT — A Duvall man is being held for investigation of kidnapping and rape in King County, and also is being eyed as a suspect in a shooting that left a Lynnwood-area woman wounded Sunday.

The man, 20, was jailed Tuesday in lieu of $1 million bail based on allegations that he abducted a former girlfriend at gunpoint and then beat, choked and raped her. The woman, 23, was able to slip away from her attacker, get control of his car and flee, according to King County authorities.

That woman told investigators one of her friends was shot during the abduction, which reportedly occurred in the 14500 block of Admiralty Way near Lynnwood.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and screaming at the home early Sunday morning.

A woman, 26, took herself to Swedish/Mill Creek seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to her abdomen, said Shari Ireton, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The man suspected in the shooting is in custody in King County, Ireton said.
