Marvelous tour: Mid-Century Marvels Architecture Tour, 10 a.m. July 29, 2730 Wetmore Ave., Everett. Refreshments served during the introduction. Members of Historic Everett or Docomomo Western Washington can buy tickets for $10; non-members $15. Tickets are available on Brown Paper Tickets or will be sold the day of the tour, though space is limited. All tour fees go toward future programs for the nonprofit organizations. Sustainability fair: Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE., Everett, is open to the public for the first time, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29. Garden party: Edmonds in Bloom Garden Party featuring Richie Steffen, author and president of the Northwest Horticultural Society, 7 p.m. Aug. 2, Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. The program honors and thanks volunteers. Raffle drawing will take place at the event to provide funds to support Edmonds in Bloom projects that beautify the community. Dragonfly workshops: 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Willow Creek Hatchery demo garden, 95 Pine St., Edmonds. Ksenia Usoltseff will demonstrate how to provide suitable habitat for dragonflies in your back yard. Learn to build your own dragonfly paradise so these beneficial bugs will reward you with gift of pest control. Dragonfly art workshop by April Richardson. Arboretum is back: After a two-year closure, the Master Gardener Perennial Border in Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens at Legion Memorial Park is once again in bloom and open to the public. It was closed two years ago as part of the North Everett arsenic mitigation project, which required the replacement of all topsoil in the border and the destruction of all plants grown in the contaminated soil. Foliage fun: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16, Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace. Join Edith Farrell, naturalist photographer and hiker with over 25 years of experience in the Mountain Loop area, to discover the best trails and areas for fall foliage and which trails are open and best for fall hiking. Also includes basics such as levels of hikes, locating trailheads and safety concerns. Connecting Granite Falls and Darrington, the Mountain Loop Highway offers access to a variety of trails and spectacular photography opportunities. Free. Snohomish County Dahlia Show: 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 19 and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Floral Hall at Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. Display of more than 2,500 dahlias as single blooms, triple blooms, five blooms in baskets and in artistic arrangements. Prizes are awarded to winning entries. Climb a tree: Washington State Parks and AdventureTerra of Seattle teamed up to offer guided, educational tree-climbing adventures to visitors at Deception Pass State Park, Hoypus Point area, 41020 U.S. 20, Oak Harbor.
