The Weepies: Edmonds Center for the Arts brings the indie pop-folk duo of Deb Talan and her husband Steve Tannen to town for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at 410 Fourth Ave. N. For ticket information, call 425-275-9595. The duo’s name comes from the old movies called weepies, in which tears come from joy and from sorrow.

Guitarist Chris Thomas King: The folk-blues great, along with Mary McPage & the Assassins and the Stacy Jones band, will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. Tickets are $20 to $35. Call 425-258-6766.

On Aug. 6, hear Steel Magic Northwest. The 85th Street Big Band plays swing favorites Aug. 13, and the Debutones play folk and bluegrass Aug. 20.

Edmonds Hazel Miller Plaza concerts: Noon to 1 p.m. for Tuesday shows and 5 to 6:30 p.m. for Thursday shows; Fifth Avenue S. and Maple Street. Free. Rain or shine. Africa All Stars perform Aug. 3. Juggler and comedian Roberto the Magnificent is on Aug. 8 and country singer Jessica Lynne performs Aug. 10. Kalani Kahaialii performs Aug. 15 and Mariachi Fiesta Mexicana on Aug. 17. The series ends with marimba player Ed Hartman on Aug. 22 and the 20/20 a capella pop group Aug. 24.

Marysville Sounds of Summer: 7 p.m. Fridays through Aug. 11, Lions Centennial Pavilion, Jennings Memorial Park, 6915 Armar Road. On Aug. 4, hear Johnny 7 and the Black Crabs. And Aug. 11 hear the Chris Eger Band.
