Everett florist shop was big part of many celebrations

My favorite floral shop sits on the corner of 21st and Colby. On Monday morning there was an unexpected sign in the window: “Liquidation Sale!” To say sadness overtook me is an understatement. Flowers By Adrian, an Everett landmark, is closing its doors and Bob and Paula will be retiring, taking on new adventures. The shop’s final day is Friday.
Adrian’s is a piece of the puzzle that made Everett for 40-plus years. They were part of our families, there for birthdays, babies, weddings, graduations, celebrations of life, holidays and those just because moments. Bob knew us, he knew what we liked and there was never a time that they did not deliver to perfection. Paula, Linda and their fellow employees, made each visit to that quaint little shop an experience. Smiles and friendly conversation greeted you as you walked into that world of beautiful color and floral smells. Kind, considerate, generous, thoughtful: Those are just a few words to describe Bob. His soft-spoken manner and his great laugh are things I will always remember. We are lucky, when in life we have the fortune to meet the caliber of people that was and is Flowers By Adrian.
There will never be a time that I drive down Colby and not look at that little shop on the corner and feel a bit of sadness. However, at the same time, I will be wishing the Adrian family the very best, thanking them for the years of friendship and beautiful flowers, and when they clean up the last flower stem, turn out the lights for the last time and shut the door, the party is not over it is just beginning. May you have wonderful memories and all your days be filled with yellow roses and wonderful adventures.
We will miss you and we thank you for the beautiful memories. Nobody did it better.
