Festival of the River
The Stillaguamish Tribe holds its annual Festival of the River and Pow Wow on Saturday and Sunday at River Meadows County Park, 20416 Jordan Road, Arlington. Gates open at 11 a.m. Parking is $10; admission is free. Children’s area, live music with headliners LeAnn Rimes and Jonny Lang, a circus, logging show, salmon bake and more.

Mutt Strut is Saturday
Everett’s annual day for dogs, Mutt Strut, is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Langus Riverfront Park, 400 Smith Island Road. Admission is free. The event starts with a community dog walk at 10:15 a.m. There will be vendors, food, racing and showcase contests, a K-9 demonstration, microchip clinic and more.

Lowell celebration
Lowell Days runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Lowell Park, 4605 S Third Ave. The Everett neighborhood event includes live music, free ice cream, food, games, vendors and costume parades.

Warm Beach festival
Summerfest runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Warm Beach Community Association Park, 19016 94th Drive NW, Stanwood. Silent auction, kids activities, burgers and hot dogs, beer garden, “Chicken Poop Bingo,” “Junquefest,” nautical wars and more.

Crosswalk patrols
Mill Creek police soon will don plain, bright clothing and stand at city crosswalks. Drivers who don’t stop for pedestrians will be pulled over and reminded of the law.

School supplies
The Snohomish Church of the Nazarene will have a school supply “store” Aug. 24 for low-income families. Bring donations of school supplies through Aug. 20 to the church at 1017 13th St.

The Everett Public Schools Foundation collects school supplies Friday through Sunday at local grocery stores (QFC locations at 2615 Broadway and 4919 Evergreen Way, and the Fred Meyer at 12906 Bothell-Everett Highway) for its Stuff the Bus for Kids.
