Upcoming pancake breakfasts

Edmonds: 8:30-9:30 a.m. Sept. 8 (typically first Friday) at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave. Pancakes, strawberry compote, eggs, ham, biscuits and sausage gravy, beverages. Cost is $5.

Bothell: 8-11 a.m. Sept. 2 and 16 (first and third Saturdays) at the Northshore Senior Center, 10201 E Riverside Drive. Cost is $5.

Snohomish: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 2 (first Saturday) at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St. Pancakes, French toast, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and more. Cost is $5, $3 for kids.

Lake Stevens: A Norwegian Pancake Breakfast is served 7:30-10:30 a.m. Sept. 16 (third Saturday, September to May) at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 2111 117th Ave. NE. Cost is $6; children under age 4 are free. More info: 425-334-0421.

Monroe: 8-10:30 a.m. Sept. 16 (third Saturday) at the East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway. Cost is $5, $3 under age 12.

Genealogy 101

Sno-Isle Genealogical Society offers a free beginning genealogy class, 10-11 a.m. Saturday (and every first Saturday) at the SIGS Research Library, 19827 Poplar Way in Lynnwood’s Heritage Park.

Comedy night fundraiser

Standup comedians including Geoff Broussard, Duane Goad and Joe Vespaziani perform at “Run Faster, Laugh Louder,” a fundraiser for the Snohomish High School cross country team, at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. Tickets are $15.

Suicide prevention benefit concert

Tony V’s Garage in Everett is hosting a fundraiser concert to bring in money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The concert is 8 p.m. Sept. 5 at 1716 Hewitt Ave. Cost is $5. The cover and all tips that night go to the foundation.

HEADS UP

Power outage in Mill Creek

The city plans to cut power to Country Club Drive and the swimming pool from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, and to the southern portion of Fairview Village from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Edmonds tree plan

A virtual open house and a survey about a proposed Urban Forest Management Plan for Edmonds is now posted online. The plan follows a previous attempt to propose new regulations for managing trees throughout the city. The latest effort focuses mostly on city-owned properties and public rights of way. It may address trees on private property, especially where trees provide critical wildlife habitat.
