On tap at the fest

A look at 10 of the beers from local brewers at this weekend’s Upper Left Beerfest.

About To Go Down | At Large Brewing, Everett

This hybrid East/West Coast IPA is made with Nelson, Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic hops to make for an exceptionally drinkable IPA.

Unimpeachable | Crucible Brewing, Everett

Crucible head brewer Dick Mergens has been dialing in his gose recipes, and this peach-infused sour gose is another big win.

Unnamed Wheat Beer | Decibel Brewing, Bothell

This German-style wheat beer made with pilsner and white wheat malt and a touch of Saaz hops doesn’t have a name yet. Give them a token and a suggestion, and they might just use it.

Thirst Trap Blood Orange Pale | Dreadnought Brewing, Monroe

Lightly hopped with Citra hops and infused with organic blood oranges, this pale ale is perfect for a warm fall day. Of note, Dreadnought is planning on bringing a mystery beer for those showing some Dreadnought love.

U Pick Strawberry Pale Ale | Haywire Brewing, Snohomish

A summer pale ale that rests on 21 pounds of fresh strawberries and hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops.

Praise the Gourd Pumpkin Beer | Lake Stevens Brewing, Lake Stevens

One of the only pumpkin beers at this year’s festival, this brew takes massive amounts of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice and joins them with East Kent Golding hops.

Raspberry-infused Belgian Golden Strong Ale | Lazy Boy Brewing, Everett

Lazy Boy head brewer Shawn Loring has been having a lot of fun with his Belgian Golden Strong Ale. The latest version is infused with raspberries.

Thai Me Down | Scuttlebutt/Diamond Knot Brewing, Everett/Mukilteo

The collaboration beer between these two Snohomish County brewing stalwarts is a Thai cuisine-inspired brown lager with ginger and Thai chilis.

Dock Jumper IPL | Sound to Summit Brewing, Snohomish

Sound to Summit head brewer Grady Warnock took last year’s session IPA but used lager yeast, giving the beer a crisp caramel backbone and citrus tones.

Oktoberfest | Whitewall Brewing, Marysville

Brewed with Skagit Valley Malt and hopped with German Northern Brewer and Hallertauer hops, this malty beer has notes of bread and biscuit and slight caramel aromas.
