EDMONDS — The city expects to start adding bike lanes along two corridors this week, as part of the south county Bike 2 Health project.
Bike lanes will be added to 76th Avenue from 220th Street to Olympic View Drive. They’ll also be added to 212th Street from the Five Corners at 84th Avenue to 72nd Avenue.
Crews will be changing road striping to accommodate the additions. The first phase of work is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, weather permitting.
On portions of 76th Avenue, this will involve removing some parking stalls.
Further work will continue after intersection improvements at 76th Avenue and 212th Street wrap up, some time in November. Crews will convert a section there that has two lanes in both directions; instead, there will be one lane in each direction with a two-way left turn lane between, leaving room for bike lanes on both sides.
