LYNNWOOD — A federal judge has yet to decide whether a lawsuit over Lynnwood’s traffic-enforcement cameras will get class-action status. The city, meanwhile, has sought dismissal of the lawsuit.
A trial date in U.S. District Court in Seattle is pending decisions on those two questions.
The lawsuit was filed in February by Ian Jordan, of Lake Forest Park. Jordan seeks damages of an estimated $5 million for thousands of drivers who have been ticketed. He alleges the city failed to follow state laws governing the use of the devices.
The city says the lawsuit is “illogical” and should be thrown out.
