Police seek witnesses to fatal multi-vehicle crash on I-5

EVERETT — Detectives are looking for witnesses of a fatal crash from Sunday involving five vehicles and a semi-truck in Everett.
The crash was reported on I-5 around 11:40 p.m. just north of Everett Avenue, according to a Washington State Patrol memo.
Kathleen Mentele, 57, of Everett, died at the scene.
A Lynnwood woman, 63, and a Shoreline woman, 58, were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The vehicles were headed south. Three cars collided because of a disabled vehicle possibly parked on the shoulder, troopers reported.
Two other vehicles struck the first three. A tractor truck then hit Mentele’s Infiniti G35 and some of the other vehicles.
The crash remains under investigation.
