MARYSVILLE — A Marysville man, 70, was robbed outside a post office Monday morning. A SWAT team arrested a suspect hours later at a home two miles away.
Nobody was hurt, said Marysville police Sgt. Pete Shove.
It all started around 9:15 a.m. with a robbery in a post office parking lot on State Avenue. A 33-year-old man reportedly stole cash from a man. It was unclear if the suspect had a weapon.
He drove away. His vehicle later was found at a house in the 5800 block of 60th Drive NE.
“Based on the house and its history, we felt that SWAT would be the safest way to make entry,” Shove said.
The robbery suspect surrendered while police waited for a search warrant to be approved, Shove said. SWAT found four others inside the house. A second person was arrested for outstanding warrants.
