BLOG: Carter Hart feted by WHL for second straight week

To the surprise of no one Carter Hart was named the WHL Goaltender of the Week on Monday.
It’s the second straight week Hart has earned the honor and the 11th time is his career.
Haven't looked closely at other goalie performances, but you have to think Carter Hart win back-to-back WHL Goaltender of the Week honors. His numbers this week: 3-0-0, .971, 1.00 GAA, with his franchise record-setting 22nd career shutout.

Hart was 3-0-0 with his team record-breaking 22nd career shutout, a 1.00 GAA and a .971 save percentage last week. That’s even better than he was the previous week when he went 2-1 with a 1.34 GAA and a .963 percentage while tying Leland Irving’s franchise shutout record.

For the season Hart is 8-3-0-1 and leads the league in GAA (1.63) and save percentage (.951), and is tied for the league lead with three shutouts. Portland goaltender Cole Kehler and Victoria netminder Griffen Outhouse are also having outstanding seasons and are tied for the league lead with 16 wins apiece. Kehler is second in GAA (1.89) and save percentage (.940) while Outhouse is third in both categories at 2.79 and .922.
There was a scoring change from last week’s 3-0 Everett win at Tri-City. The league determined that Dawson Butt tipped in Martin Fasko-Rudas’s shot. So Butt has retroactively scored his first WHL goal while Fasko-Rudas is now still looking for his first goal in the league.

Connor Dewar was back at practice and was a full participant on Monday. Dewar missed the last four games with an upper body injury. Prior to this season “The Pitbull” had played in 143 of 144 contests for which he was on the Everett roster.
