Everett City Council is seeking applicants to fill Franklin’s seat

EVERETT — The Everett City Council is seeking applicants for a soon to be vacant spot.

Councilwoman Cassie Franklin was elected mayor earlier this month. Her new job means her council seat will become open.

The term will run from January until the November 2018 election.

Applicants must be 18 years old, registered to vote and have lived in the city for at least a year. Applications should include a resume and cover letter. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Dec. 7.

The appointment is scheduled for council discussion Dec. 13 and Dec. 20.

Some council members challenged the appointment schedule at Wednesday night’s meeting, but no changes were decided.
