The Game
The Everett Silvertips keep right on rolling. The Tips have won four straight, five of seven, and 10 of 15 going back to their first trip to Kamloops on Oct. 27. The two losses in their last seven? A 2-0 loss at Seattle (with an empty-netter) and a 2-1 home loss to Regina.
More importantly, the Tips are beating teams they need to beat. Kamloops is one of three teams behind Everett in the standings and the Tips created more distance in the wild card standings. Everett finished 2-0 at Kamloops this season and picked up four important points that could make a difference at the end of the season in terms of a playoff berth.

It didn’t sound like Carter Hart was tested much, but he still got the better of Kamloops counterpart Dylan Ferguson with 32 saves on 33 shots. Hart earlier in the day was named the WHL Goaltender of the Month and has won the WHL Goaltender of the Week honors the past two weeks. The one goal he allowed came on the power play as Everett’s league-best penalty kill finished 2-for-3. The Tips also scored once in four power-play tries, so that issue seems to have fully worked itself out.

Connor Dewar returned the lineup and scored the game-clinching empty-netter. More importantly Dewar’s return allowed the Tips to return to the more traditional lineup with 12 forwards and six defensemen. During his absence the team had consistently been going with 11 forwards and six blueliners.
The Turning Point
Sean Richards crashed the net and buried a deflection for the game-winner at 16:30 in the third period.
Three Stars
1. Everett F Sean Richards: Richards scored the game-winning goal and has eight goals in his last 11 games.
2. Everett G Carter Hart: Hart saved 32 of the 33 shots he faced.
3. Kamloops C Luc Smith
