Woman, 47, found dead in Marysville jail cell

MARYSVILLE — A woman was found dead in her cell Saturday at the Marysville City Jail.

The woman, 47, had been in custody roughly four days after being arrested on warrants, Marysville police Sgt. Pete Shove said in a press release.

She was found unresponsive in her cell at 4:35 p.m. Saturday. Officers began CPR immediately and were swiftly joined by Marysville Fire personnel, who work from the same building that houses the jail and police department.

Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful and she died at the scene. The death is being investigated by Marysville police detectives and the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. Her name was not immediately released.
