LYNNWOOD — Police are looking for people who witnessed a car strike an 88-year-old woman in Lynnwood last month.

On Nov. 8, the woman was standing on the corner of 196th Street SW and 76th Avenue West. The crosswalk signal changed around 5:15 p.m. and she began crossing the road.

Meanwhile, a red Toyota Prius turned right at the intersection and struck the woman’s walker, said Deputy Chief Jim Nelson with the Lynnwood Police Department. The collision knocked the woman backward. She was injured.

The Prius driver continued driving, Nelson said.

Police believe someone in a white pickup truck might have witnessed the collision and confronted the driver of the Prius.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officer Clark Savell at 425-670-5600, csavell@lynnwoodwa.gov. People also can reach Sgt. David Harris at 425-670-5642, dharris@lynnwoodwa.gov.
