LYNNWOOD — A woman reported she was raped at gunpoint this week at a Lynnwood motel.
She had been detained by police in a shoplifting case Tuesday at a Walgreens , when she said she’d been raped one day earlier at the motel. She went on to tell officers she’d been staying in a room with a friend. She went to the bathroom around noon Monday, and came out to find a friend of her friend had shown up. She knew the man only by a nickname.
At some point, they were alone, according to a summary of her account filed in court. She said the man slapped her, pointed a pistol at her and ordered her to undress. He put the gun in her mouth with enough force to chip a tooth, and he forced her to have intercourse, she reported.
Police interviewed the man, 49. He said he’d smoked heroin and meth with the woman. He claimed to have had consensual sex with her about 10 days earlier, but denied any sexual activity Monday. However, his timeline of events “changed each time he told it,” according to police.
Detectives arrested the man for investigation of first-degree rape, unlawful imprisonment and harassment. Police served a search warrant on the room.
