EVERETT — A driver accused of robbery and vehicular assault fled Everett police, crashed his car and fled again, before he was arrested in Marysville on Christmas afternoon, according to police.
A transit supervisor in the parking lot of a QFC store on Broadway reported he’d been threatened by a man who appeared to have a knife. The man had walked up to him and demanded something — it’s not clear what — before he got into his car and rammed the supervisor’s vehicle on purpose, said officer Aaron Snell of the Everett Police Department.
Officers pursued the car through the Riverside neighborhood. The driver fled onto I-5.
Minutes later, the car crashed in a five-vehicle collision, and it rolled north of the exit to 4th Street in Marysville, Washingotn State Patrol trooper Heather Axtman said. The driver ran off.
Marysville police gave chase. The man was tracked down and arrested around 2:30 p.m. east of the freeway. He was taken to a hospital to be checked for injuries. Then he was expected to be booked into jail for investigation of a litany of charges: attempted robbery, vehicular assault, hit and run and possibly driving under the influence, according to police.
