Daddy-daughter dances coming

Edmonds’ Daddy-Daughter Dance is Feb. 24. Enjoy dancing and refreshments. Photos are available for purchase. Cost is $12.50 per adult and $6.50 per child.

Everett’s Daddy-Daughter Dances, set for Feb. 9 and Feb. 10. Cost is $29, and $6 for each additional daughter attending the same session. Wear your fancy pants and twirl your princess on the dance floor. Refreshments and commemorative photo included.

Lynnwood’s Ties and Tiaras Winter Ball has afternoon and evening sessions Feb. 24. Dancing, refreshments and photo opportunities are part of the package. Cost is $12.50 per person.

Marysville’s Father-Daughter Valentine’s Dance events are scheduled for Feb. 3 and Feb. 10. Registration starts Wednesday. Cost is $25 per couple and $5 for each additional daughter attending the same session. The night comes with dancing, refreshments and a commemorative photo.

Take photos from a kayak

Get tips from expert Gary Luhm on how to improve your photography skills from the cockpit of your kayak at “Photography from a Kayak,” a program of the North Sound Sea Kayaking Association, set for 7 p.m. Jan. 4 in Spruce Hall at Forest Park, 802 E Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. While you’re there, meet folks in the local paddling community.

The event is free.

Teen art project

Teens are invited to use old book pages on canvas to create a background, then layer an animal silhouette over it to make frame-worthy art, 3 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Arlington Library, 135 N Washington Ave. Canvases are limited and registration is required.

State of Northshore schools

Northshore School District leaders plan a first “State of Our Schools” breakfast program for 7:30 to 9 a.m. Jan. 24 in Kirkland. Reservations are required by Jan. 10.
