MARYSVILLE — A Marysville business has agreed to pay the state $80,000 to settle a case about its storage of dangerous waste.
Quil Ceda Tanning Co. initially was fined $120,000 in December 2016, according to a news release by the state Department of Ecology. Investigators found multiple kinds of waste on site, in various stages of storage or outright abandoned, without the proper permits. The waste involved several businesses at the location.
The leather company has since spent about $63,000 on cleanup, according to the news release issued Friday. The state was told that tanning no longer takes place on site.
