State Patrol seeks witnesses to I-5 shooting near Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD — State troopers are seeking witnesses to a drive-by shooting on I-5 in the Lynnwood area.

A driver in an early 1990s Acura opened fire along the passenger side of a Toyota 4-Runner while both vehicles were northbound on the freeway around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Three bullet holes were found in the Toyota, but no one was hurt. The Acura driver, 33, of Everett, exited the freeway and called police. He claimed he’d fired in self-defense, and his wife told troopers he might have undiagnosed post-traumatic stress from military service, according to court papers filed in the case.

He was arrested for investigation of drive-by shooting.
