EVERETT — An Everett man fired a shotgun at a driver who crashed into his car Tuesday on Casino Road, according to police reports filed in court.

The men, both 20, had past grudges and “did not like each other,” police wrote.

One man was hanging out with two friends in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 100 block of W Casino, when the other man slowly drove by in a Lexus at 9:30 p.m., the court papers say. He made the three friends nervous. They jumped into a Subaru to leave, but ended up turning into a dead end, where the other man stood in front of the Lexus with a shotgun, according to the police reports.

The Subaru driver hit the gas, crashed into the Lexus and went into reverse. The gunman fired a round that hit the Subaru’s front passenger side, according to court papers.

No one was hit by the gunfire, officer Aaron Snell said.

Both sides called police. The shooter told officers he fired the gun because he didn’t want the car to get away. Officers booked him into jail for investigation of first-degree assault.
