BOTHELL — Tim Wilson is set to join the University of Washington Bothell as its dean of student affairs this summer.

He will oversee offices that foster student engagement and personal and professional development at the campus of almost 6,000 students.

UW Bothell interested Wilson because of the institution’s “active embrace” of diversity and for working toward positive change.

“I have been waiting my entire career to work at a campus like UW Bothell, a place where students, faculty and staff come together and strive for excellence each and every day,” Wilson said.

He will finish the academic year at his current post as Seattle University’s assistant vice president for student development, according to a news release from UW Bothell. Before Seattle U, Wilson was the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Black Culture Center coordinator for the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Susan Jeffords, UW Bothell vice chancellor for academic affairs, said Wilson was recognized for his strong leadership, management background, communication skills and experience creating and supporting inclusive campus communities.
