The high school FIRST Robotics Competition Pacific Northwest District Championship was held April 4-7 in Portland.

The Mountlake Terrace High School “Chill Out” Team 1778 was part of the winning alliance, along with teams from Tacoma and Camas. The teens now head to the World Championships, set for April 17-22 in Houston.

Also advancing to worlds are Jackson High School’s “Jack in the Bot” Team 2910 (Excellence in Engineering Award); Cedar Park Christian Schools Team 3663 (Creativity Award); and the King’s Schools “CyberKnights” Team 4911 from Shoreline (Regional Chairman’s Award).

Also competing at the District Championship were Snohomish and Glacier Peak’s “Sonic Squirrels” Team 2930, which won the Team Spirit Award.

Teams from Cascade and Lynnwood high schools also competed.
