EVERETT — Northwest Software Technologies Inc., which develops event fundraising software for nonprofit groups, has been acquired by Boise, Idaho-based MaxGiving LLC, a fundraising technology firm that serves nonprofits.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jack Wilson Jr., founded the private Everett software company in 1985.

“After 32 years in business and pioneering software technology … I have agreed to sell the corporation to a new generation of professionals who are dedicated to helping nonprofits raise funds for great causes,” he said.

Wilson, Northwest’s former president and chief executive, said he sold the company to “spend more time with my family.” For now, he will stay on as an advisor and software developer.

Northwest Software Technologies will keep its name, operating as a subsidiary of MaxGiving, led by Dan Harrington, its president and chief executive.

Said Wilson: Harrington’s “commitment to working with nonprofit organizations made his corporation a natural fit for continuing a legacy of success and tradition.”
