Third-graders from Fryelands Elementary School walked down the sidewalk April 27 to help Monroe Mayor Geoffrey Thomas and other city officials plant a red maple tree at Lake Tye Park for Arbor Day. This was the first such ceremony, and the city hopes to make it an annual event.
