Mill Creek women ‘sprinkle’ happiness for passing motorists

Lisa Mills, of Mill Creek, celebrated her birthday on May 2 by organizing a Happiness Sprinkling group. Friends Breaonna Brask, Toni Wilson, Laura Peterson, Kim Kuhne and Lona Brask joined in. The group of yellow-clad women stood at the corner of 35th Avenue SE and 132nd Street SE and held up signs with messages like “You Are Delightful!” and “You Rock!”
“There were lots of smiles, waves, thumbs-up from drivers going by,” Mills said. “You could tell that some people weren’t sure as to our agenda, or who we were supporting, or what was our cause. Our cause for the day was to spread happiness in our community. And by the reactions we received, I think it worked!”
Signs were loaned by the Anacortes Center for Happiness, which started the Happiness Sprinkling Project in 2012. More information is at www.happinesssprinklingproject.org.
