Hiker with a broken leg near Granite Falls airlifted to hospital

GRANITE FALLS — A hiker was flown to the hospital after breaking her leg Monday in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest east of Granite Falls.

The injury occurred in the Gothic Basin/Foggy Peak area and was reported around 3:30 p.m., the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported.

A SnoHAWK10 helicopter crew flew the woman to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Her age and hometown were not immediately available.
