EVERETT — The Vancouver Canadians hit five home runs and knocked off the Everett AquaSox 9-0 before 3,389 fans Friday at Everett Memorial Stadium.

It was the second consecutive loss for Everett (12-10) as the Frogs now head to Tri-City for a quick three-game road trip before returning to Everett for an eight-game homestand.

Griffin Conine homered twice for Vancouver (10-12) and the Canadians also got long balls from Bryan Lizardo, Tanner Kirwer and Sterling Guzman. Vancouver pounded out 15 hits and stranded 11 runners in the victory.

Ryan Ramiz singled twice for Everett in his first game since being called up from Arizona. No other AquaSox player had more than one hit.

Everett Starter Rob Whalen, who is down from Triple-A Tacoma on a rehab stint, gave up a pair of 400-foot home runs in the top of the second to Conine and Lizardo as the Canadians took a 2-0 lead.

The lead swelled to 5-0 in the fifth. Kirwer led off with a home run. Then Yorman Rodriguez’s groundout plated Otto Lopez and Lizardo doubled in Hunter Steinmetz.

Vancouver added four more runs in the eight. Conine hit his second home run of the night and Guzman followed with a solo shot as the Canadians took a 9-0 lead.

The AquaSox left the bases loaded in the first inning and stranded eight for the game.

Everett reliever Joey Gerber recorded all four outs by strikeout while working around a walk in 1 1/3 innings of work.
