Eastbound 522 closed overnight
Eastbound Highway 522 will be closed at Paradise Lake Road four nights starting Friday while crews repave the Snohomish River Bridge. The posted detour stretches across 24 miles, following Highway 9 to U.S. 2.
The Washington State Department of Transportation is repaving the highway from Woodinville to Monroe.
Scheduled closures: 8 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday; 8 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday; 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday; and 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
During the day, Highway 522 will reopen to one lane of alternating traffic across the Snohomish River Bridge.

Edmonds: 8:30-9:30 a.m. July 6 (first Friday) at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave. Pancakes, strawberry compote, eggs, ham, biscuits and sausage gravy, beverages. Cost is $5.

Snohomish: 8:30-10:30 a.m. July 7 (first Saturday) at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St. Pancakes, French toast, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and more. Cost is $5, $3 for kids.
Monroe: 8-10 a.m. July 21 (third Saturday) at the Monroe Community Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway. Pancakes, French toast, eggs, ham or sausage, beverages. Cost is $5, $3 younger than 12.

Learn about tax
Marysville voters can learn about a proposed sales tax increase to build a new police department and jail at a pair of short information sessions, 6 p.m. July 9 at Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave., and 6 p.m. July 18 at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. The proposal appears on the August primary ballot, which is due Aug. 7. If approved, the new city sales tax rate would be 9.2 percent.
