LYNNWOOD — A driver crashed into a Washington State Patrol trooper’s SUV Sunday morning in a suspected DUI accident.

Trooper Brent Campbell, 33, was reportedly parked on the shoulder of northbound Highway 525 when the driver of a Subaru Impreza rear-ended the trooper’s Ford Explorer SUV at 8:50 a.m.

South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue said the Subaru caught fire.

Both men were taken to Swedish Edmonds for injuries. South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue said the trooper’s injuries were minor and the Subaru driver’s were more serious but did not appear to be life-threatening.
