EVERETT — A fire in a south Everett home displaced five people Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the 9400 block of Holly Drive when a resident saw smoke rising from the basement, said Steve Goforth, Everett assistant fire marshal.
At least two people were evacuated.
Crews arrived to the scene at about 4:15 p.m. The fire was extinguished five minutes later.
No injuries were reported.
The local chapter of the Red Cross was assisting the residents, Goforth said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate wasn’t immediately available.
