HEADS UP
116th ramps to close
Construction of four new ramps at the I-5 interchange with 116th Street NE will require a full closure of existing ramps on the north side of the bridge deck this weekend.
The I-5 southbound offramp and I-5 northbound onramp are expected to close at 9 and 10 p.m. Friday, respectively, and reopen by 5 a.m. Monday. Both 116th Street NE and I-5 will remain open.
This is part of a $62 million interchange project led by the Tulalip Tribes.

Tour de Terrace
The Tour de Terrace festival in Mountlake Terrace runs Friday to Sunday at the Evergreen Playfield, 22289 56th Ave. W.
The parade is at 7 p.m. Friday. Other highlights include a pancake breakfast, car show, carnival, live entertainment, beer garden, arts, crafts and food booths.

Fair time in Silvana
The Silvana Fair, the first fair of the season, will be held Saturday. Opening ceremonies are at 9 a.m. The fair continues until 5 p.m.
The fairgrounds are at 1331 Pioneer Highway. Admission and parking are free.

WAYS TO HELP
Ride to Defeat ALS
The Snohomish Ride to Defeat ALS will be Saturday along the Centennial Trail, starting and ending at the Snohomish Senior Center.
Registration is $65. Participants are asked to raise at least $150 in donations. Proceeds benefit the ALS Association.

Toy drive at Aquafest
U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots of Snohomish County will collect donations of new toys and monetary donations during the Aquafest festival in Lake Stevens this weekend. Look for their booth in the Lake Stevens City Center.

Women invited to newcomers picnic
Everett Area Newcomers Club is for women who are new to the area, or who would like to make new friends.
Activities include monthly luncheons and coffee socials, a breakfast club, book club, theater group, cards and other games, and outings.
The group’s annual picnic is at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 2 at Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Prospective members are encouraged to attend.

Alaska Airlines retirees meet again at 11:30 a.m. Monday (and every last Monday) at Old Country Buffet, 1816 S 320th St., Federal Way.
